Synopsis

Pee Mak is a Thai horror-comedy film by Banjong Pisanthanakun that is loosely based on one of Thailand’s greatest ghost stories, Mae Nak Phra Khanong. The storyline focuses on Mak (Mario Maurer), a soldier who goes back home after enduring a war. He then takes along his pals Ter, Puak, Shin, and Aey, to the village where he lives with his beautiful wife Nak(Davika Hoorne) and their newborn son, Dang. However, a series of unfortunate events unfold after one of his friends, Ter, discovers the possibility of Nak being a ghost.

The narrative intertwines Pee Mak’s tale with Nak ghost parts and horror-comedy elements. Mak shares his story which takes a darker spin, and the sheer element of supernatural scares the viewers, often throwing them into a fit of laughter.
