Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

Introduction:

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, the final sequel of The Fantastic Beasts movies produced and directed by David Yates further develops the story of the darker wizard Gellert Grindelwald, played by Mads Mikkelsen, with Albus Dumbledore, who is played by Jude Law in the film. In this movie, it starts with the calm between wizards and mugglers being on the edge of collapse, as Grindelwald starts spreading his influence. Dumblemore is unable to directly oppose to this complement due to a blood pact the two made when they were younger, However, in going through the plot of this movie or for other events, he seeks the help of Magizoolog Nigerian economist Newt Scamander alongside a wide array of witches and wizards with a brave Muggle baker named Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler).

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardary alongside the mystical mountains in Bhutan and the Berlin Streets are few places the movie covers. Not only does magic come in abundance, but the movie also shares Dumbledores history, his enigmatic past and the bonds he shared with Grindelwald and how their past moved onto give a chance for Dumbledore to look into future.A Plan B has to be devised in order to stop Gells from controlling International Confederation Wizards to secure his control.

The Secrets of Dumbledore is an audio visual presentation that delves into the intricate aspects of love, loss and disloyalty. The odds seem to tilt in the favor of Grindelwald and as his followers suffer personal losses at the hand of Dumbledore, the concept of right and wrong is shattered and redefined. The political warfare is overshadowed by the emotional state of the characters.

Cast and Crew:

Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander: All hope was lost against Grindelwald but when he reunited with his counterpart, his awkward charm gave rise to a bolstering sense of hope for all. Redmayne reprises his role as Scamender, the quirky Magizoologist.

Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore: At moments while Mads is portraying Gellert, Patrick seemingly fumbles, however, due to Jude Law’s addition to the film turning the tables and looking unto the past of Dumbledore, shines a light on the burdening moral chaos that Sims is necessarily overwhelmed with.

Mads Mikkelsen as Geller Grindelwald: Stole the show with his under the radar of subdued even dark crassness, the manipulative and ruthless tripartite was stunningly embodied by Mikkelsen.

Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski: The idea of being a muggle enthralled Jacob who captured the feeling of sheer adoration perfectly, his performance manages to leave the audience in awe.

Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein: Newt’s redemption arch being drowned in dismay during this installment is somewhat compensated with Waterston’s optimistic yet brief cameo as Tina.

Jessica Williams as Professor Eulalie Hicks: Williams steals the show as a self-assured and sharp Charms professor, her spellwork and wit being essential in the movement.

Ezra Miller as Aurelius Dumbledore / Credence Barebone: The character of Andrius Dumbledore is expertly brought to life by Miller which enhances the already heart-wrenching character of Credence who grapples with dual identities and loyalties.

Themes and Analysis: Compassion and Devotion One of the pillars that the movie is built upon is the strong devout love never spoken in-between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. They were destined to love, which in itself is heartbreaking, the blood pact serves not only as a physical and spiritual boundary between the two lovers but as something much more:

Ambition and Evil The world in which only wizards are superior to Muggles, envisioned by Grindelwald, illustrates the consequences of having excessive power in the world and it’s never-ending source of desire. What stems from fear is an obvious and terrifying ability to control people, and in the maneuvering of Nivelle, is the dangerous ability to lead others.

Self and Others The self quest continues for Credence in this film as well. The revelation of his blood as Aurelius Dumbledore only adds to his inner struggles, questions regarding whether blood determines one’s fate or not.

Hope and Unity:

All the members of Newt’s team, regardless of their diversity, present a vision of strength through their continuous struggle against oppression. Each individual, be it Jacob, the brave but timid character or Eulalie the resolute character, plays a role larger than their own.

Cinematography and Visual Style:

The atmosphere of the Secrets of Dumbledore is loaded with captivating visuals, like the yellow warm light of Hogwarts and the ice grey colors of Grindelwald’s tower. David Yates presents harmless political surrounding settings with gloomy context. The breathtaking Qilin, which is devoid of impurity and plays a crucial part in the story, is portrayed by finished computer graphics. The film’s drab color scheme complements the storyline about the war. The Quidditch Maneuver where Dumbledore and Grindelwald faces each other in a duel elevates the sad reality of their Quidish War.

Critical Reception:

The performance given by Mikkelsen as a more grounded and dangerous version of Grindelwald has been praise worthy with great acclaim towards Jude Law for his performance as Dumbledore, however the pacing of the movie coupled with the political subplots created a conflict amongst viewers with the imdb rating being 6.5 out of 10. Overall the movie is visually grand and boasts a profound level of emotional depth, but given the number of storylines it had, it felt a bit off in terms of how everything was being concluded.

Audience Reception:

The Wizzarding World of Harry Porter was able to very well appreciate the deeper character arc of Dumbledore with him also returning back to Originally Hogwarts, the movie’s immersion was a lot better for the audience. However, the movie lacked in a few aspects like focusing less on Tina, and slowing down the pace. People were also conflicted over the lingering undertone provided by the story line surrounding Credence and the resolution that followed, as the ending felt to be lacking to most.

Conclusion:

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is a fantastic creation that broadens the need for complex character building in this installment. The movie may not be loved by all due to its nuanced plot, but manages to highlight Dumbledore’s greatest challenge and the price one has to pay to fight oppression. With ideas of love, sacrifice, and perseverance articulated clearly throughout the movie, it définitivement is one of the significant parts of the entire saga of the Fantastic Beasts.
