Eternals is a superhero movie directed by Chloé Zhao and it is based on the characters from Marvel comics of the same name. The story follows a race of aliens that are immortal. These aliens have secretly lived on Earth for more than 7,000 years and during this time, they have been protecting humans from powerful monsters called Deviants whilst shaping the course of human history. The Eternals don’t wear a mask because they are instructed by their creator Celestial Arishem to help humanity without getting involved in any wars.
History is revisited, and the world comes to know about past events that have been laid to rest, thus the Eternals decide to come from their ages long slumber and join forces. Sersi (Gemma Chan), Ikaris (Richard Madden), and Thena (Angelina Jolie) stars struggle with their reason of existence while trying to make sense of their origins and the Emergence, which is a celestial event that is set to happen. Coupled with love and fidelity and the aspect of creation vs destruction, their split decision on defending Earth or pursuing their God’s orders unfolds through flashbacks and real-time confrontations.

Gemma Chan plays Sersi, role of an empathetic Eternal with the power to manipulate matter. Chan gives a layered performance, infusing warmth and realism into Sersi’s role as a leader.
Richard Madden stars as Ikaris, the Eternal who possesses the unique power to fly while also projecting energy beams. In his portrayal of Ikaris, Madden’s J.M. possesses a sense of intractable and contending loyalty which lends Ikaris ambiguity.
Angelina Jolie portrays Thena, who is Thena’s and fierce soldier with an inherent and unfortunate personality disorder called Mahd Wy’ry. Thena has certain shortcomings and difficulty, which Jolie’s performance captures in a captivating way with subtle and powerful pieces and expressions.

Another character in the movie is Ajak whose role was played by Salma Hayek. She is portrayed as a wise leader who takes on the role of the spiritual liaison among the Eternals. Hayek eloquently embodies Ajak portraying her as a more maternal character while also attributing a sense to duty to her.
Lauren Ridloff assumed the role of Makkari and is regarded as the first deaf superhero to appear in MCU, where she zooms around a lot. Her performance is both energetic and passionate.
Barry Keoghan as Druig is one of the deeply embedded embodiments of an Eternal who possesses the ability to dominate. His character is complex and his ambition to help humankind a noble one which at times is at odds with his disillusionments, which is how Keoghan portrays Druig.
