Synopsis

Aruna and Her Palate is a drama comedy from Indonesia directed by Edwin and is based on the novel from Laksmi Pamuntjak. The film captures beautifully the intersection of food, friendship, and self-exploration.

The story centers on Aruna, an eating enthusiast epidemiologist who goes to various Indonesian cities to study a possible avian flu outbreak. She sets off on the expedition along with some of her most peculiar friends including Bono, an eccentric chef, and Nadezhda, a sharp-minded food journalist. During this journey, his ex-coworker and secret love, Farish, joins Aruna, adding a taste of romantic tension into the mix.
